Greg and Jane Dietz spent some time visiting Japan while their daughter lived there. That, coupled with their Wisconsin love for Prairie Style architecture and the nautical character of Door County, served as the foundation for their new home in Sturgeon Bay.
Reminiscent of early 1900s Arts and Crafts harbormaster structures along the Lake Michigan coast, this home will house the activities of Greg and Jane, along with visiting adult children and friends.
The home is constructed with super-insulated walls, energy-efficient windows and in-floor radiant heat which will run through a custom-stained concrete floor. The expanse of south-facing garage roof anticipates future solar water panels. Interior stairs and beams are being milled from ash trees harvested on-site.
